Job Summary
This role is focused on providing top-notch medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients. You will be responsible for assessing nutritional needs, delivering tailored medical nutrition therapy, and offering nutrition education. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will serve as a vital resource for the physician staff and collaborate effectively with others. There are also opportunities to engage in community service through nutrition education programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition or a related area.
Licenses / Certifications :
- Registered with the ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
- CPR Certification (Heart Saver only) from either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Completion of a qualified professional experience required for the registered dietitian exam administered by the ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration.Ability to interact positively with diverse individuals.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrates commitment to our Partners-in-Caring philosophy by embodying our values in all customer interactions. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary treatment team.Establish nutrition care goals, conduct assessments, and develop individualized nutrition care plans with ongoing evaluations of nutrition status.Provide age-appropriate medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients.Adjust nutrition regimens according to patients’ preferences and cultural needs.Document nutrition care plans meticulously in the medical record, including assessments, monitoring parameters, goals, and recommendations.Educate patients and families on nutrition tailored to their age, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.Ensure safe and compliant care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies and procedures.Support professional growth and development, ensuring mandatory and continuing education requirements are met; mentor and support less experienced staff members.Perform additional duties as assigned.
