American Traveler is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services & Short Stay Observation Unit (ED & SOU) with a CO or compact RN license and strong leadership background.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work on-site in a hospital setting overseeing both the Emergency Department and Short Stay Observation UnitFull-time, interim to permanent opportunityPresence and visibility required across all shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysRole includes both management and hands-on clinical support, stepping into clinical care as neededVariable shift scheduleOversight of daily operations for both the Emergency Department and Short Stay Observation UnitLead and mentor interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient careCollaborate closely with medical staff, nursing leadership, and ancillary departmentsResponsible for budget, staffing, and resource allocation managementDrive quality, safety, and patient satisfaction initiativesPromote a supportive and engaged team cultureOccasional direct clinical coverage may be necessary in staffing shortagesOn-site leadership presence required during all shifts\n \n Requirements\n
Active CO or compact RN license requiredBachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required; Master's degree preferredMinimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in emergency services or acute care, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleCurrent ACLS and PALS certifications requiredNurse Executive Board Certification (NEBC), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), or equivalent certification preferredStrong clinical, regulatory, and emergency care best practices knowledge\n Benefits\n
