Job Title : Production Wrapper Operator

Position Summary :
Operate and optimize the wrapper section (including Presto robots and check weighers) to consistently wrap bars to specification. Maintain proper machine speeds / settings to minimize waste, ensure accurate coding, coordinate with upstream / downstream teams, and follow GMP / PPE and safety procedures.
Main Job Functions :
Optimize wrapper, robots, and check weighers for performance and minimal loss.
Execute clean shift handoffs; communicate critical watch points to incoming / outgoing operators.
Maintain immediate communication with upstream / downstream operations, team leads, supervisor, and maintenance.
Verify bar coding / printing accuracy; validate encoder operation and update codes when required.
Make simple HMI adjustments and mechanical fine-tuning to maintain proper setup and speeds.
Ensure seal integrity meets visual and vacuum test specifications; document results.
Remove unrelated materials from the room; stage correct materials, tools, and documents for each job.
Ensure wrapper film is properly threaded and downstream packaging equipment is ready to receive product.
Check codes at the packing machine at required frequency and complete the FR-Checking Codes form; change codes per quality specs and validate with supervisor before QC release.
Keep a spare roll prepped and ready; use small / partial rolls first to avoid accumulating incomplete rolls.
Prepare product samples at QC-requested intervals.
Recycle off-spec product using designated bins and return to mixing in a timely manner.
Identify and report unusual noises / mechanical issues immediately; unlock / clear robots to minimize downtime.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and area; support sanitation / changeover cleaning and correct reassembly.
Continuously scan the work zone for issues that require immediate attention.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time; follow all GMP and PPE requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements :
Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent pushing / pulling of materials.
Make minor equipment adjustments using basic hand tools.
Stand for extended periods; frequent squatting / bending to make line adjustments.
Required Competencies :
Food Safety training; working knowledge of GMP and PPE practices.
Mechanical aptitude; able to make simple HMI and mechanical adjustments.
Intermediate communication skills; able to read / interpret documents and write routine entries.
Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
Ability to work in a high-speed environment and remain calm during emergencies.
Basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide; decimals / fractions; ratios / percentages); calculator proficient.
Strong teamwork; positive, productive attitude; commitment to company values.
Reliable, on time, takes initiative, meets productivity standards; adapts well to change.
Work Environment & Safety :
Food / CPG manufacturing environment with moving equipment, film, sealers, printers, and robotics.
Follow all plant safety rules, GMP, sanitation, and required PPE at all times.
