Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Opening in Cedar Rapids Area

The Senior Accountant position is an onsite, full-time role responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. This role involves assisting in financial management and reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Controller in financial management and reporting responsibilities.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations.
• Prepare month-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping and reporting.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with general ledger, month-end, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and V-lookups.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with database software, such as SQL, is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, including Innovative/AS400, is helpful.
• Knowledge of the trucking industry is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong decision-making and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with all departments within the organization.

Work Environment:

The position is based at a trucking company located near the airport in Cedar Rapids, with a new office opened in 2021. The accounting team comprises three members, including this role. Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr. 401k and benefits with the company.
