Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 4902)

Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : promptly greet guests; respond to questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction; and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / returns accurately using the POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain high-quality guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop's guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty).
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in Workday / HR service management system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- With the Store Manager, ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening / closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities.
- Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, maintain staffing for optimal guest service, and ensure best-in-class service.
- Approve payroll, manage paid time off and time edits, and verify compensation for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Fulfill omni-channel orders daily.
- Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety checks and address concerns with the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties.
- Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure product representation and organization on the sales floor.
- Balance daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits according to guidelines.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to the Store Manager / District Manager.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per company guidelines.
- Maintain store records / files in an organized manner; keep manuals up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Open and close procedures compliance.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills and Abilities

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation : $16.75 - $20.75 per hour
Benefits : Full-time eligibility for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance; bonuses and / or other incentives may apply.
