About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (18 : 45 - 07 : 15)

Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience required, traveler experience preferred

License : Nursing license required

Certifications : BLS required; ACLS, NIHSS preferred

Must-Have :

• Proficiency in MS / Tele nursing skills
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with telemetry monitoring (both unit and remote)
• Colostomy care and feeding tube management

Description :

This is an ED holding support position located within an emergency department.

The ED holding unit serves patients awaiting an inpatient bed.

Patients may have various medical and surgical adult diagnoses.

Travelers are expected to manage MS / Tele cases while floating to other areas as needed.

Ratios are targeted at 1 : 5-6 for patient assignments.

Weekend work is required on a rotating basis.

Contract staff may be assigned to work during emergency situations.

The unit operates with a high turnover rate and carries a mix of high acuity patients.

Standard equipment includes cardiac monitors and IV pumps.

Documentation and communication systems used include electronic health records.

Candidates must demonstrate comfort with floating to different units.
