The Chicago Yacht Club is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented and self-starter to join the team in the role of Human Resources. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are critical to this role.

The Manager of Human Resources is a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Club's human resources function. This role provides strategic and operational HR leadership to ensure compliance, employee engagement, and alignment with organizational goals. The Manager of Human Resources will serve as a trusted advisor to management, a resource for associates, and a steward of best practices in human capital management.

WHAT WE OFFER :

  • Pay range between $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
  • On-site work environment.
  • Flexible schedule with a 40-hour work week.

HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT YOUR ROLE IS :

  • Oversee and manage all human resources functions for approximately 150 associates across two locations.
  • Serve as the primary resource for associates regarding benefits, payroll, and company policies.
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, job fairs, and supporting managers in candidate selection.
  • Administer and manage unemployment claims in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to management regarding employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Promote positive employee relations by maintaining open communication, addressing concerns promptly, and upholding confidentiality.
  • Coordinate annual benefits open enrollment in partnership with external consultants and the Club's payroll provider.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support organizational objectives and foster a high-performing culture.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • WHAT WE REQUIRE :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. PHR or SPHR-CP certification preferred.
  • Must have 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Well-developed leadership and administrative skills and a generalist background with broad knowledge of talent acquisition, compensation, employee engagement, learning and development, organizational planning, employee relations, labor relations, payroll, pension administration, safety and worker's compensation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in hospitality or membership-based organizations is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and in fast paced environment with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills as well as keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to attend weekend meetings and / or evening events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Paycom (or equivalent payroll system).
