Job Title : Laboratory TechnicianJob Description
The Laboratory Technician's primary responsibility is to provide support to laboratory staff as needed in all areas of laboratory operations. The laboratory technician will report to the general manager and / or operations manager for their daily assignment. The needs of the laboratory will change on a daily basis, as will the laboratory technician's role.
Responsibilities
Independently prepare and analyze samples using analytical SOPs and specific departmental instrumentation after appropriate training.
Perform routine operations, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Assist with validation and method detection limit (MDL) studies.
Contribute to investigations and preparation of responses to client inquiries and corrective action requests (CARs).
Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions and operations.
Maintain a laboratory notebook where applicable.
Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in extraction, titration, and pH measurement.
Experience with 8260 / 8260 TCLP, 624, Agilent GCMS.
Ability to oversee multiple instruments and load multiple batches per day.
Experience with Centurian Auto Samplers and EV2 concentrator.
Comfortable handling various acids, bases, and reagents with appropriate PPE.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
Effective communication skills with the ability to work under minimal guidance and manage shifting priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in sciences through education, work, or a combination.
Knowledge and concern of environmental issues is a plus.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects with varying deadlines.
Work Environment
This position is based in a Chemistry Lab focusing on extractions. The standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. However, willingness to work a flexible schedule, including longer hours, evenings, and weekends, is necessary as job duties demand.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 / hr.
