The Scientist I – Reagents Manufacturing ensures that quality products are manufactured safely and delivered on time while serving as a team lead. This position reports to the Supervisor of Particle Standards Manufacturing in the Particle Standards Lab (PSL) Team.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Perform pertinent tests to determine chemical and / or physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions, utilizing spectrophotometry, electrophoresis, Flow Cytometers, Particle Counters / Sizers and other laboratory techniques.
  • Train and advise production personnel on manufacturing procedures for product formulations and testing.
  • Write necessary reports, initiate manufacturing document change orders, and prepare standard operating procedures for processes, facilities, products, and tests as required.
  • Participate in troubleshooting of various production methods and recommend solutions or process improvements.
  • Interact with departments and colleagues within and outside of Production, including QC, QA, Development, Marketing, Engineering, etc.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

  • Associate degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or related field with 3+ years of work experience OR bachelor’s degree in the field with 0+ years of experience.
  • Ability to follow approved work instructions with attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and lead a team within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with MS Office products, Microsoft Excel, and email.
  • Undergo annual medical clearance as required for use of Supplied Air Respirators (SAR).
  • Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical / Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50 lb.
  • It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in :

  • Previous laboratory work experience, especially in an FDA / ISO regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Training and advising production personnel in manufacturing procedures.
  • Participating in troubleshooting and recommending process improvements.
