Job Summary

Responsible for general accounting duties and projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts and balance sheet accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Reconcile all bank account balances with monthly bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare and record monthly journal entries in an accurate and timely manner with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Responsible for monthly tracking and yearly reporting requirements for government FISAP & financial audit.
• Support internal team in month-end and year-end close process.
• Assist in preparing deliverables for auditors during interim and year-end audit.
• Liaison for all student club accounting.
• Support Research Department with all accounting and reporting functions necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an accounting emphasis
• 2-4 years of financial accounting experience
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year end close procedures
• Experience working with an accounting software package
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including lookups and pivot tables

Preferred

• Experience in not-for-profit and/or higher education environment
• Experience with Microsoft GP Dynamics
