Job Summary :

The Greenhouse Maintenance Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining greenhouse facilities, performing preventative maintenance on climate control systems, structures, and other equipment, and supporting operational needs to ensure healthy and productive plant growth. This role involves troubleshooting and repairs, assisting with environmental monitoring, pesticide application, and operating vehicles and equipment safely. The technician will work closely with greenhouse staff and internal customers to support crop production and new plant variety development.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on greenhouse structures, climate control systems, and other greenhouse equipment.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement improvements throughout the greenhouses and facility.
• Support greenhouse operations in collaboration with internal teams for the creation of new plant varieties.
• Safely operate pickup trucks, cars, and forklifts to support daily operations.
• Use power tools and field equipment to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
• Obtain a pesticide private applicator license and apply pesticides safely using appropriate respirators.
• Monitor growing conditions, including fertigation, lighting, pests, and other environmental factors for vegetable crops.
• Maintain operational tasks in greenhouses and hardening houses to ensure successful plant growth.
• Use modern computer systems for irrigation, climate control, and operational administration.
• Independently follow standard operating procedures and complete assigned tasks.
• Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of basic irrigation systems, including replacement of PVC and metal pipes and solenoids.
• Perform occasional after-hours and weekend tasks, including crop irrigation, pest control, crop growth monitoring, and security system checks.

Required Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications :

Greenhouse experience.

Pesticide application experience.

Certifications :

Pesticide Private Applicator License (or ability to obtain).

Education :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Certification : Pesticide Private Applicator License
