Job Title : Construction Project Manager
Location : 100% on-site
Experience : 8-10 years - must have CA experience
We have two projects that we need this construction andsafety manager for :
Twin Peaks : smaller project and we are planning to startconstruction in May, finishing in September.
Denali larger project and we are planning to startconstruction in September, finishing mid 2026.
Construction Manager
The construction manager is responsible for constructionmanagement, safety, and quality on capital projects located in San Jose, CA.Projects are typically retrofit or expansion of existing facilities with scopeincluding office fit out, clean room installation, and the installation of equipmentrelated to chemical production, purification, and packaging processes. Projectbudgets vary from 2 to 30 million with 12 month schedules. On-site presence isexpected since daily interaction with contractors, safety and quality personnelis required.
Construction Manager Job Responsibilities :
Oversee construction sites, general contractors, andworkers to ensure a high level of safety and quality, with a goal of zerosafety incidents on all projects.
Ensure compliance with corporate safety protocols andindustry standards.
Completes day to day coordination of constructionactivities, ensuring contractor efficiency.
Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance withapproved project specifications and procedures. Ensures that any deviationsfrom plans are identified and corrective actions implemented as required.
Manages construction contracting from initial biddingefforts through contract closeout including review of construction scopes,managing competitive bidding efforts and bid reviews, and ensuring contractorcompliance with all contract requirements and documents.
Manages contractor change orders, reviewing contractorjustification, estimates and completes change order negotiations for review andapproval by project stakeholders.
Reviews and manages the progress of contractorsconstruction schedules.
Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status andprogress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
Coordinates project updates, including safety and qualitymeetings as needed.
Provides regular updates to clients and upper management,addressing any concerns or changes as needed
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensureseamless project coordination
Oversees project permitting efforts, includingcoordination between the engineer of record and the authority havingjurisdiction, as well as coordination of all required building inspections
Conducts quality assurance inspections during and afterthe completion of work to ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements
Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to team members,promoting their professional development and growth
Supports the project on-boarding process for contractors,their crews and other team members
Collaborates with safety and quality managers to addressand resolve safety and quality concerns

Construction Manager Qualifications / Skills :
Knowledge of construction technology, safety, and qualityprinciples
Experience with commercial building construction, cleanroom construction, and installation of chemical production processes
Proficient with project budgeting and forecastingprocesses and tools
Proficient in project controls, including schedulemanagement processes and tools
Capable of conducting risk assessments and implementingmitigation plans
Conceptual planning ability
Conflict management and critical thinking skills
Leadership ability
Multi-tasking ability
Strong communication, meeting, and presentation skills
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements :
Bachelors in civil engineering, construction management,architecture, or other related discipline or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience as construction manager withexperience across commercial building construction, clean room construction,and installation of chemical production processes
Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools
OSHA 30 certification minimum
Experience and capable of interpreting ASME, ACI,Building Construction and Owner Standards and Procedures
Experience with Accident Investigations and reports
First Aid and CPR Certification
