Data Center Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Construction Manager to lead a team overseeing the construction of data centers performed by colocation providers. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are managed effectively to meet schedule, quality, and design requirements.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning : Develop and implement long-term standards and strategies for data center colocation construction projects.
Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Project Oversight : Lead and manage the construction oversight efforts of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Contract Management : Review and understand complex data center leases and contracts. Verify management of projects in compliance with active contracts.
Stakeholder Communication : Serve as the primary leadership point of contact between the company and colocation providers. Ensure clear and effective communication between all internal and external stakeholders.
Schedule Management : Implement schedule review procedures to find opportunities, uncover risks and develop a high level of confidence in project delivery.
Risk Evaluation : Analyze projects independently to evaluate the risk profiles associated with timely delivery, address gaps in risk identification and mitigation and inform the business of associated potential impacts. Escalation risks appropriately across organizations.
Risk Management : Develop, implement and track mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Reporting : Ensure processes are in place to provide timely, accurate, detailed internal reports for executive level consumption.
Tenant Fit Out Integration : Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit out projects with the DCIB teams leading these efforts.
Quality Assurance : Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
Innovation and Improvement : Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance data center performance and sustainability. Attend meetings held in various time zones to support live engagement and support of international projects.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management
Utility power infrastructure background
Experience with on-site power generation projects
Knowledge of natural gas turbine engines
Familiarity with electrical substations and transmission
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects
Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and design coordination
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
