Job Description
Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates four well-known brands, is hiring a Fabric Development Manager to join their research and development team in New York City.
This Manager will leverage consumer insights and trends to drive fabric development and mill strategies. Areas you will support include fabric innovation, costing, and positioning, and the ideal candidate will have previous experience managing fabric research, fabric testing, and connecting with international mills to create a robust strategy!
Responsibilities :
- Partner with Product Development and Merchandising to insure that fabrics are within the V / G / B / B pricing architecture
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of design, merchandising, and product development priorities
- Support fabric process discipline throughout product-to-market calendar to ensure alignment at each key milestone from Mill Week to Fabric Alignment and Sampling
- Maintain a fabric and wash resource library to support seasonal inspiration as well as archive production fabrics
- Track Fabric development KPIs and brand discipline on number of seasonal developments
- Track fabric testing report and risk assessment tool to level set expectations across functional areas
- Support fabric pricing guidelines for line plan.
Requirements :
5+ years of fabric research and development experienceSolid understanding of constructions, weaves, and finishes in woven fabricationsExperience negotiatingPLM experienceKnowledge of Fabric Testing
