This position is with the Compassionate Care Clinic, an independent nonprofit organization located within one of our managed properties. Our company, Quincy Management, provides HR support to Compassionate Care and is managing this recruitment process on their behalf.

About Compassionate Care

Compassionate Care is a non-profit medical clinic in Corpus Christi, Texas dedicated to serving uninsured and underserved adults in the Coastal Bend region. Our volunteer-based model combines high-quality medical and behavioral health services with compassionate, patient-centered care.

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports both the Mental Health and Primary Care programs at Compassionate Care. The CMA performs patient intake, assists with communication and follow-up, and provides translation and coordination support for the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and other clinical staff. This position plays an important role in ensuring a smooth, respectful, and efficient experience for every patient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake for scheduled mental health appointments, including verifying patient information, updating records, and documenting vital signs as needed.
  • Explain discharge instructions and follow-up appointment details to patients clearly and compassionately.
  • Assist the receptionist and the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with patient-related phone calls, including appointment reminders, follow-up communications, and coordination of care.
  • Contact the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as needed to complete patient communication or care coordination tasks.
  • Provide Spanish-English translation for patients during their appointments with the Nurse Practitioner or other clinical staff.
  • When not assigned to the mental health program, assist the medical clinic team with patient intake and general clinical support.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with HIPAA and clinic policies.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
  • Prior experience in a medical or behavioral health clinic preferred.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) proficiency required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment.
  • Compassionate attitude and sensitivity to diverse patient populations.

  • Full-time or part-time schedule may be available.
  • Position located on-site at Compassionate Care, Corpus Christi, TX.
