Sr. Network Architect

Pay Range
$150,000 - $190,000 USD per annum
Position Summary
Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, the Sr. Network Architect provides network design, implementation, troubleshooting, configuration, and needs analysis to support the use of technology by staff and clients. The role is responsible for designing and deploying Company 3 network infrastructure, resolving advanced support issues, and assisting other IT staff with complex escalated problems. The architect administers various company data centers and communications closets, collaborates with application development and IT security teams, and manages complex tasks and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑level network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, SD‑WAN, and cloud networking technologies.
Develop and implement network security strategies, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and access control.
Collaborate closely with DevOps, Security, Cloud, and Data Center teams to ensure seamless integration of network solutions across environments.
Evaluate network performance and diagnose complex issues across multiple locations and cloud environments.
Lead the creation of network documentation—diagrams, policies, procedures—and establish governance processes.
Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies and enhancements to existing network designs.
Develop capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
Duties
Enhance Wi‑Fi performance and support.
Conduct network benchmarks and testing.
Resolve complex tickets related to network architecture and firewall operations.
Review team work for quality and thoroughness.
Identify critical success factors and develop test plans.
Manage system performance, addressing network usage and security threats.
Analyze data from diverse network systems to support security and capacity planning.
Delegate network maintenance tasks to junior staff and assess squad performance.
Qualifications
Background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems.
Expertise in optical systems (passive and active DWDM), VoIP, real‑time applications, SDN, IoT integration, and OSPF / network protocols.
Proven experience planning and designing complex network architectures.
Desired Skills
Strong analytical skills : develop hypotheses, collect data, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions.
Excellent communication with status, progress, and impact updates to management.
Customer‑service oriented and capable of resolving issues swiftly.
Deep understanding of complex transactions and configuration options.
Experience developing work plans for engagement components.
Awareness of evolving technology trends and their applicability.
Availability for weeknight and weekend coverage.
Vendor management, RFP experience, and resource acquisition / management skills.
Excellent presentation of technical matters.
