DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will actively supervise employees involved in providing guidance, instruction, treatment, and specialized services to court-adjudicated youth in a secure or restricted setting. You will also assign tasks to staff; ensure timely completion of reports; and participate with staff in providing for the physical care, custody, and supervision of the youths' daily activities that include recreation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, work assignments, and program requirements. Working alongside a dynamic team, you will assist professional staff in implementing treatment plans and reporting youths' progress in attaining goals. You will communicate with youth about their thought processes, actions, and personal problems to provide insight into responsible behaviors and attitudes. You will maintain order by verbally and physically intervening with disruptive, emotionally improper, and suicidal youth. In addition, you will receive comprehensive training in the use of appropriate physical restraint techniques to prevent escapes; control aggressiveness; and maintain a safe, secure, or restricted environment.
