We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven sales professional who can grow with Lundbeck. Our ideal candidate will be a specialty product expert with an understanding of market complexities to promote our products to stakeholders in primary care and neurology. As an Account Manager, you lead the promotion of our psychiatry portfolio, executing sales and marketing strategies with comprehensive clinical knowledge to drive sales performance.
Essential Functions
- Business Planning & Account Leadership – Use digital tools and data-based insights to create opportunities, develop strategy & tactics, allocate resources, monitor progress, and adjust direction to maximize sales performance.
- Selling – Deliver messages clearly and compellingly to customers, effectively probe needs, handle objections, and close calls with commitment to action.
- Customer Development – Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals.
- Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise – Gather & validate key trends and dynamics, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover opportunities.
- Reimbursement – Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics and address payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) using Lundbeck resources.
- Pharmaceutical Environment / Compliance – Apply knowledge of pharmaceutical and regulatory environment, including FDA regulations regarding promotion.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.2–5 years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, medical device sales or related healthcare sales experience.High scores on disease and product training exams, including annual product knowledge certification.Strong communication skills, tenacity, self-starter, and outstanding work ethic.Adaptability and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team.Problem-solving and analytical skills.Data analysis skills for both short- and long-term goals aligned with business objectives.Must live within 40 miles of territory boundaries.Valid driver's license with a safe driving record and willingness to drive.Required to meet industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers.Ability to lift, bend, push, pull up to 25 lbs. with reasonable accommodation.Preferred Education, Experience & Skills
Experience selling to general practitioners and primary care centers.Experience promoting CNS / neuroscience products.Experience working with alliance partners (co-promotions).Travel
Willingness / ability to travel 30–40% domestically for customer interactions, conferences, and internal / external meetings. Travel must be completed in a timely manner.Compensation & Benefits
Salary range : $108,000 to $125,000 with eligibility for a sales incentive target of $39,000. Additional benefits include flexible PTO, health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision), company match 401(k), and company car.
