Job Title : General Production Worker - 19 / hr

Job Description

As a General Production Worker, you will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of packing dry powdered contents for shipment. You will adhere to all food-related Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Follow all food-related GMP and SOP guidelines diligently.
• Pack items on the lines for shipment, ensuring no damage or breakage.
• Correctly use ingredients for mixing, coulter, and APG.
• Check weights and accurately record all lot and bag numbers used.
• Maintain sanitation practices of the equipment due to food packaging requirements.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Lift 50-55 lbs consistently at waist height or shift weight side to side.
• Work in confined spaces and hot environments as necessary.
• Utilize heights, such as catwalks above machines, for certain tasks.

Work Environment

Work in a large, older-style brick manufacturing building, producing dry powder items like Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa mix. The facility is food-grade and requires adherence to GMP. The environment can be hot in non-air-conditioned areas, but the mixing area is air-conditioned. Expect 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule of 44 hours one week and 36 hours the next. Shift differentials are offered. GMP requirements must be followed, and uniforms, along with steel-toed boots, are mandatory. Be prepared for a lot of stairs and walking due to the building's layout.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Defiance, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.75 / hr.
