The Department of Emergency Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is a well-established department that sees 75,000+ visits / year as a tertiary referral center for the larger Ochsner Health System. The department graduated its first class of Emergency Medicine Residents in 2023 and has seen continued rapid growth in the clinical enterprise. The department is currently recruiting for an Academic Faculty position within the Division of Emergency Ultrasound at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus as we continue to expand. We are searching for American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine certified / eligible physicians, with ultrasound fellowship training and a passion for residency education, who can further grow the diversity of excellence within the academic department. We are particularly seeking physicians who are fellowship trained with experience in Simulation, EMS, Ultrasound, as well as those with experience in Quality and Patient Safety and Operations as we continue to develop these divisions and roles within our department. The Division of Emergency Ultrasound currently has three EM physicians who have completed an ultrasound fellowship. Our department has five ultrasounds, conducts billing, utilizes Qpath software for QA, performs nerve blocks, endocavitary ultrasound exams, and manages ultrasound rotations for EM residents.
