Discipline Manager, Electrical Engineering
What You Will Do :
- Design of power, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, audio-visual and security systems for building related construction projects.
- Preparation of electrical construction documentation including drawings and specifications.
- Preparation of electrical conceptual and schematic level engineering reports.
- Performance of construction administration, including shop drawings, RFI’s, site visits, etc.
- Preparation of photometric, load and fault current calculations as well as other calculations required to support electrical design.
- Proficiency in applying requirements of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 72, and other applicable building and energy codes.
- Works on major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
- Assists with preparation of proposals for professional services or to obtain funding for engineering projects.
- Successfully works directly with Owners, Vendors, Suppliers, manufacturer Representatives, Code Authorities, as well as co-workers such as architects, other engineering departments, project managers, administrative staff, and others to provide high quality, well-coordinated and technically proficient electrical engineering design solutions for a variety of project assignments.
- Actively participates in project meetings during design and construction activities to represent the Company. It is possible that an occasional meeting may require travel involving both day trips and some overnight stays to out of town project locations.
- Leads site visits to evaluate various facility types during assessment of the existing electrical infrastructure and / or performing similar field survey work in advance of the preparation of appropriate project design and construction phasing solutions.
- Takes an active role in trade organizations aligned with the work of our department or our clients.
Key Success Factors :
Previous electrical design experience with an AE or MEP consulting firm.Able to interact and coordinate well with others, including design team, clients, and contractors.Able to work well on multiple projects of varying size and scope.REVIT proficiency or willingness to learn. AutoCAD capabilities and knowledge.Excellent communication and organization skills.Exhibits “self-starter” characteristics.Able to properly assess and propose well thought out electrical solutions during design.Exhibits a high sense of personal motivation and urgency coupled with appropriate action.Has an interest in pursuing highly sustainable and energy efficient projects and buildings.Qualifications :
Preferred 15 to 20 years of professional experience.Bachelor of Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.Professional registration as PE and LEED accredited professional.RCDD or ability to obtain RCDD a strong plus.LEED, WELL, or Green Globes Certification experience preferred.Luckett & Farley is an Equal Opportunity Employer / Affirmative Action Employer
