The Lead Instructor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality instruction in the assigned program area, ensuring compliance with state, BPSS, and institutional standards. This role involves teaching, training other faculty, assisting administration with curriculum implementation and revision, and maintaining a positive learning environment that supports student success.
Requirements : Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Oversight
- Deliver engaging, student-centered lectures and practical skill demonstrations
- Ensure curriculum is taught in accordance with approved syllabi, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
- Recommend updates to curriculum and instructional materials to reflect current industry practices and regulatory changes.
- Integrate technology and diverse teaching strategies to meet varied learning styles
- Assist with interviewing and onboarding new instructors
- Seek and maintain clinical affiliation sites in collaboration with administration
- Visit clinical sites to ensure students are having a positive learning experience.
Faculty Leadership & Support
Provide guidance, mentorship, supervision and training to instructors within the programConduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedbackAssist in scheduling, assigning instructional duties, and ensuring faculty coverageServe as the primary point of contact for faculty regarding academic and instructional concernsEnsure Instructors licenses are up to dateEnsure there are appropriate number of instructors to teach.Student Support & Performance Monitoring
Monitor student progress and intervene early to address academic or attendance concernsSupport faculty in managing student issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, in accordance with school policyFoster a professional, respectful, and inclusive classroom environmentSchedule students for clinicals and ensure they complete all required hoursCommunicate with affiliations sites to ensure students are following policies and address any concernsCompliance & Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records in the school’s Student Information System (SIS).Ensure faculty and students comply with school policies, dress code, and safety regulationsParticipate in staff meetings, program advisory board meetings, and accreditation visits as requiredCollaborate with the administration to ensure program compliance with BPSS and accrediting agency standards.Qualifications
Current license / certification in the relevant healthcare fieldMinimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in the fieldAt least 2 years of instructional or educational leadership experience preferredStrong understanding of adult learning principles and diverse teaching methodologiesProficiency in using educational technology, including online learning platformsExcellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
