This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. As a Master, Tender, XH-5784-08 on the M / V Sanderford, incumbent works under general supervision of Dredge Master, Foreman, and / or Unit Chief. Incumbent is Head Operator, and is in charge of a Diesel Towboat engaged in tending, moving, and supplying major items of a floating plant units.

Responsibilities :

• Stand regular watch as Master, Tender engaged in towing, river inspection, and special trips.
• Check all operations and operating repairs and maintenance of the tender.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) : Ability to do the work of a(n) Master Tender without more than normal supervision which includes :

Physical Effort : Work generally involves light physical effort. Working Conditions : Work is performed inside the pilot house and requires little physical effort. Hazards encountered include falling on slippery decks, or climbing steep stairways, and possible drowning in case of accident.

Foreign Education : If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
