Corporate Compliance Investigations Coordinator

The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Network (VISN6), at the Western North Carolina VA Healthcare System (WNCVAHCS) in Asheville, NC. The position serves as the Corporate Compliance Investigations Coordinator (CCIC) in the Corporate Compliance section (CCS), Office of the Executive Director. The incumbent works directly for the Chief, Corporate Compliance, who reports to the Executive Director.

Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Health Systems Specialist - Corporate Compliance Investigations Coordinator include but are not limited to the following :

  • Oversight and Coordination of Corporate Compliance Investigations
  • Program Oversight and Investigative Data
  • Education and Training

Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12 / 01 / 2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement : Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9 and for a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience and / or education as described below :

For the GS-11 Grade Level : Specialized Experience : You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to : ability to review complaints and determine the most appropriate method of investigation; experience with creating, implementing, and presenting program policies or training materials; and experience with conducting fact finding investigations and / or administrative investigative boards.

OR, Education : Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, Or LL.M in the related field of the position to be filled (i.e., hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration). The education portion must include courses that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Education must have been obtained in an accredited college, or university. NOTE : Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials.

OR, Combination : Applicants may also have an equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate level (beyond a master's degree) and specialized experience as described above to meet total experience requirements. The education portion must include graduate courses that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do to the work of this position (i.e., hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration). NOTE : Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation.

For the GS-12 Grade Level You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to : ability to determine when complaints are to be escalated to the EEO Program Manager, Risk Manager, or VA Police; knowledge of employee relations / labor relations policies / procedures; knowledge of investigative principles and techniques in order to design and coordinate compliance reviews and / or monitoring activities; and skill in applying complex factfinding, analytical and problem solving methods and techniques to identify interrelated program problems, draw conclusions and recommend appropriate action or solutions to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
