About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : Valid nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

Med / Surg background.

Step-down experience preferred.

Description :

All inpatient units based on competency are included in the float pool.

Ratios vary by unit : Med / surg = 1 : 6, Step-down = 1 : 4 / 5, ICU = 1-2 / 3.

RNs are required to titrate drips only in step-down areas.

Common titratable drips include heparin, Cardizem, nitro, cardene, insulin, dobutamine, dopamine, and others.

Charge Nurse / House Supervisor is available for support.

Restorative and therapeutic care equipment such as Cpap and BiPap can be utilized across units.

Ventilators are exclusively available in ICU.

Continuing education and ongoing training provided.

Shifts are assigned through direct communication with staffing.

Weekly rotation includes weekends, and holiday requirements are assessed as needed.

There is no call requirement, but standby may be necessary if census is low.

Staffing includes a robust float pool for nursing and patient care technicians.

Scrub color is royal blue.

Experience with monitoring equipment and reading strips is beneficial.

Experience with chronic trach vents is a plus.

Cancellation policy allows for specific shift cancellations during assignments.

Charting system used is EPIC.

Position does not require a BSN but valid nursing licensure is mandatory.

This is an acute care division in nursing.
