POSITION SUMMARY
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic is responsible for providing basic clinical care commensurate with his or her medical education to patients. Duties include performing initial clinical evaluations, vital signs, assisting with procedures for emergency care as directed by the registered nurse (RN). Provide excellent customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- BLS and ACLS Certification
- Minimum of 1-year experience in either an urgent care of emergency department. EMT's and Paramedics must have a minimum of 2 years ambulance experience or 1-year emergency department experience
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Current state licensure for EMT or Paramedic license
- Able to work in a fast pace emergency department

Excellent Customer Service skillsCourtesy and Respect for every staff memberPerform Laboratory point of care testing and all CUA waved testing as well as perform lab controls as needed.Comply with organization policies and proceduresWork closely with the medical, nursing, and radiology staff. Participates in staff meetingsFollow daily lab and equipment checks for Quality AssuranceEnsures follow up phone calls as assigned by the RNAssist in maintaining the facility in clean safe working order in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.Do daily equipment inspections to ensure equipment is clean and in working orderAssist with patient check in as neededEnsures patient confidentiality and care is documented accurately in the patient chartAssist with supply costs and ordering as assigned by the facility managerPerform clinical duties as assigned by the RN if train in that dutyUtilizes company email as primary means of communicationMaintains examination rooms and ensures that the room are stocked properlyBe proficient with practice management and electronic medical record documentationComply with federal regulation including but not limited to HIPPA, CMS and CUAEnsures safe clean work environmentWork efficiently in a team environmentAssist with patient transfersCommunicate with patients professionally and timelyAbility to work weekends and holidaysPerform other duties as assignedWorking Conditions
