Senior Business Development Manager : Strategic Communications and Marketing

Location : Kentucky / Southern Indiana

Reports to : President

Good news - we're growing, and we need a high-energy, relationship-focused Senior Business Development Manager who can help us connect the dots between client needs and our strategic solutions. If you love the idea of selling ideas, not just more stuff, this is your moment.

$$ Base pay $60,000-$70,000, plus performance-based commissions. Top performers can earn up to $125,000 total annually.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Hunting and cultivating new business opportunities across Kentucky and Southern Indiana, and beyond.
  • Building and growing authentic relationships with decision-makers in government, associations, and professional services.
  • Owning the sales process from lead generation to finalist interviews, with full support from our marketing and client services teams.
  • Tracking and leading RFP responses and contract renewals.
  • Identifying new needs in the markets we serve and helping develop services to meet them.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to align messaging, strategy, and client needs.
  • Using Salesforce to keep your pipeline organized and your wins visible.

Leadership Track

This isn't just a sales role. It's a launchpad. We're looking for someone who can grow into a senior leadership position, potentially overseeing all sales and client growth efforts across the firm. If you're ready to step into a bigger role over time, we're ready to invest in you.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 8+ years of experience in professional services, association / membership sales, or selling intangibles.
  • A track record of success in long-cycle, consultative sales.
  • A strong network in Kentucky / Southern Indiana - and the ability to grow it.
  • Excellent communication skills and a knack for making complex ideas simple.
  • CRM fluency (Salesforce preferred).
  • A self-starter mindset with the discipline to follow through.
  • Who You'll Work With

    You'll report directly to our President and Chief Business Development Officer, Kerri Richardson, a strategic thinker who values initiative, transparency, and team alignment. You'll primarily support development efforts in the region's government agencies, nonprofits, professional services firms and education institutions. You'll collaborate with the agency's marketing director, VP of client services, and with members of the client services team. We're a firm that believes in clear goals, open communication, and celebrating wins.
