Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine is seeking a Director of Program Evaluation and Assessment - Boca Raton, FL.
This Director role as an education evaluation, assessment, and measurement specialist will direct the day-to-day operation and function of the Office of Program Evaluation and Accreditation (OPEA). This is an outstanding opportunity to join the FAU COM leadership team as the Director of Program Evaluation and Assessment in a dynamic, innovative, and rapidly expanding medical program. This staff position will lead OPEA and report to the Assistant Dean for Medical Education Program Evaluation and Accreditation (ADMEPEA). The Director will have the primary responsibility for program evaluation and assessment of the undergraduate medical education (UME) program, student affairs, including admissions, and other operational areas to help maintain accreditation compliance with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Medical Education Program Evaluation and Accreditation. This position includes opportunities to engage in educational research and serve on FAU and COM committees.
This role includes overseeing the development, coordination, collection, and reporting of evaluations for all pre-clinical, clinical, and clerkship courses, as well as faculty and peer evaluations. The position provides consultative support to faculty and COM leadership on evaluation and assessment strategies, contributes to the design, implementation, and analysis of national and internal surveys, and manages a team of evaluation specialists to ensure alignment with the College's strategic goals and educational outcomes.
Summary of Responsibilities :
Promote professional development opportunities for OPEA staff and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Manage the organization, analysis, and reporting of annual and longitudinal data related to course evaluations, assessment outcomes, and educational program goals.
Lead the design, implementation, and management of scientifically sound data collection instruments and strategies.
Assist the ADMEPEA with CQI processes for the UME program, curriculum, and student affairs, including admissions.
Coordinate the implementation of interventions and monitor their effectiveness.
Collaborate with course and clerkship directors to develop and implement evidence-based curricular and program improvement strategies.
Assist in the development and management of data dashboards to support evidence-based decision-making.
Independently analyze quantitative and qualitative data for education-related projects.
Write and edit reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholder groups.
Support ongoing LCME accreditation efforts by collecting and compiling data, developing documentation, and maintaining compliance with standards.
Manage and maintain an archive of all assessment, evaluation, and accreditation-related documents and reports.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for assessment and evaluation processes to support and guide CQI activities.
Promote best practices in education by designing and leading faculty and staff development sessions on assessment, evaluation, pedagogy, and other relevant topics.
Act as an agent for innovation by initiating and supporting educational enhancement projects.
Apply educational research to guide curriculum improvements, support faculty and student scholarship, and enhance the medical student experience.
Coordinate special and ad hoc projects to achieve the strategic objectives and goals for the college.
Prepare and present results and recommendations to key stakeholder groups.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of FAU COM.

Minimum Qualifications :
Doctoral degree, or equivalent terminal degree in educational leadership, statistics, biostatistics, psychometrics, educational assessment and measurement, or related field required.
Minimum of five years of appropriate experience required.
Exceptional time management, analytical and communication skills (oral and written), required.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills :
Possess flexibility and adaptability to the rapidly changing medical education and accreditation landscape.
Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, administrators, and educational researchers to improve the quality of education programs.
Possess a track record of collaborative engagement with faculty, administrators and education researchers in the design, conduct and reporting of education research, relevant to the priorities and institutional strategies and improve the quality of education programs of an academic health sciences center.
Ability to work under considerable pressure and manage multiple relationships and priorities.
Experience with LCME accreditation or other education accreditation organizations.
Knowledge of medical or healthcare education and management evaluation systems.
Experience with faculty and staff development, quality improvement, educational leadership, and educational program assessment and evaluation processes.
