NOAA Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (LMRCSC) Department of Natural Sciences The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites resumes for a twelve month, full-time, grant-funded Post-doctoral Research Associate in Marine / Fisheries Science at a salary of $50, with a start date of May 1, . The position is subject to availability of funds. Responsibilities
- Work with the LMRCSC Director and Distinguished Research Scientist to develop a program in marine biology, fisheries ecology, ecotoxicology, aquaculture and / or environmental omics.
- Develop research program.
- Assist the Director and Distinguished Research Scientist with directed research programs commensurate with their expertise.
- Instruction of graduate and undergraduate courses.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Classification 19- Life, Physical, and Social Science Occupations Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Marine Science / Biology or Fisheries related to biology, ecology, ecotoxicology, aquaculture or population / ecosystem dynamics.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fisheries population and ecosystem dynamics (including modeling and statistical analysis), marine ecotoxicology, fish and shellfish trophic ecology, geospatial modeling or environmental omics is desirable.Some experience with grant writing.Experience with academic and / or marine programs.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Must have excellent communications skills to include written communicationMust be organized and detail oriented.Must have a strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills.Database management / development skills.Ability to develop and manage budgets.Strong familiarity with GIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat Pro, experience with database management (e.g. MS Access).Certifications / Registrations N / A
