Responsibilities :
- Post and apply received payments to appropriate billing claims and accounts.
- Respond to patient, insurance, and clinic billing inquiries by phone, providing accurate and helpful information.
- Print, mail, and manage paper claims, refunds, overpayments, and account credits.
- Apply denial reasons to claims, process medical record denials, and scan documentation as needed.
- Review patient bills for completeness, accuracy, and missing information.
- Verify insurance details, including copay, deductibles, and coinsurance, ensuring compliance with contract discounts.
- Identify and bill secondary and tertiary insurance providers as appropriate.
- Assist with collections on unpaid patient accounts and resolve returned mail issues.
- Support the medical records team with requests, calls, clarifications, and upholding privacy standards.
Must-Have Skills :
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a revenue cycle or related billing role.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant billing software.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accuracy under pressure.Nice-to-Have Skills :
Previous experience in hospital or healthcare accounts receivable.Understanding of medical billing codes and EOBs.Familiarity with privacy regulations and processing medical records requests.Demonstrated leadership and ability to support team workflow.Strong self-motivation and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
