Job Description

Position Summary :

Operates xray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body. In addition, will be responsible for the performance of mammography studies requiring independent judgment, extended knowledge and expertise to apply ionizing radiation for radiologic purposes.

Education, License & Cert :

Completion of a normal radiologic technology training program in an AMA approved school (two years) with certification. Must be a registered technologist ARRT. Must also be licensed in the state of NY if performing location is a NY Regional Office Site. Certification required, ARRT (M)mammography certified within two (2) years of employment.

Experience :

Prefer six months to oneyear experience.

Essential Functions :

• Performs diagnostic radiologic procedures and / or mammographic procedures. 2. Proficient inpatient care activities as related to radiology and / or mammography. 3. Knowledgeable in the correct use of the Radiology Information Systems, scheduling, tracking, completion, downtime procedures. 4. Performs as a part of the radiology team to insure excellence, teamwork, and patient centeredness. 5. Provides for patients modesty, comfort and privacy. 6. Demonstrates willingness to accept nonroutine work assignments, as appropriate.
