Job Summary :
The Senior Financial Analyst supports Camden's Corporate Finance Department to provide critical analyses and recommendations to Executive Management, including corporate forecasting, earnings guidance, scenario analysis, budgeting, modeling, financial reporting, and debt compliance. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst gains exposure to capital market transactions through scenario analysis, interaction with investment and commercial banking professionals, and interaction with Executive Management. This position will interact with Department Heads and their teams to assemble necessary information. This interaction with other departments, including Accounting, Tax, Risk Management, Legal, Employee Development, Real Estate Investments, Construction, Revenue Management, Asset Management, and Operations, is paramount to helping ensure recent and relative information is included in the forecasts, analysis, and models the Corporate Finance Department provides to Executive Management. The ideal candidate is analytical, motivated, resourceful and eager to dive into the data.
Essential Functions :
- Responsible for facilitating and / or assisting Executive Management in the placement of equity and debt capital, maintaining relationships with Camden's creditors, ensuring compliance with debt covenants, and financial planning and analysis including : corporate forecasting, earnings guidance, budgeting, and modeling
- Prepare quarterly reporting and projections to assist Executive Management during earnings release and board meetings
- Prepare operational and capital expenditure budgets and facilitate virtual budget workshops for operations team, including Regional Vice Presidents, District Managers, and Community Managers
- Develop and maintain useful real estate transaction models for acquisitions and developments while working closely with transaction teams and reviewing deals for accuracy
- Reconcile quarterly development project costs to original budgets, and forecast future expenditures through stabilization
- Perform advanced financial and trend analysis in order prepare updated forecasts for property level income and expenses
- Analyze financial impact of potential transactions such as joint ventures, equity and debt issuances, property sales or purchases, etc.
- Prepare all monthly, quarterly and annual bank compliance
- Maintain reporting systems during monthly updates and testing
- Miscellaneous analysis and special projects for Executive Management
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required4 - 7 years of related experience requiredPrior Real Estate / Multifamily experience is preferredStrong financial and analytical skillsAbility to think critically to evaluate business implicationsStrong knowledge in Excel required; VBA proficiency is preferredPrior experience with Oracle's Cloud EPM and ERP a plusProficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe AcrobatAbility to lead, plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasksStrong Oral and Written Communication SkillsMust be a hard worker with a proven track record of accuracy and accountabilityMust be an ambitious and enthusiastic team-player with strong interpersonal skillsStrict confidentiality requiredAnd here's the fine print HR wants you to know
