Preschool Special Area Teacher
Location : Alexandria, VA 22311, United States
Compensation : $55 / hour – 1099 Independent Contractor
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Preschool Special Area Teacher to join our early childhood program. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in one or more special areas such as Music, Art, or Humanities , and have a strong background in working with young learners. A passion for fostering creativity, curiosity, and social-emotional growth in preschool-aged children is essential.
Qualifications :
P3 Certification (Required)
Background in Music, Art, or Humanities (preferred)
Certification in Elementary School Teaching or Early Childhood PreK
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood education
Strong classroom management, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers and staff in a team environment
Must pass required criminal history background check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident / immigrant status
Responsibilities :
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in your area of specialization (Music, Art, Humanities)
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures each child’s unique abilities
Foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in preschool students
Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues
Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate special area instruction with core curriculum
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators
Maintain high expectations for student participation and growth
Participate in professional development and school community activities
Perform other related duties as assigned
