Interim Director of Pharmacy

We’re seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead a high-performing hospital pharmacy team through a transitional period. This role requires a visible, hands-on leader who can quickly build trust, strengthen communication, and bring stability and structure to a department in change.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, approachable leadership to a team of 35 pharmacy professionals (including pharmacists, managers, and technicians).
- Oversee all inpatient pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency.
- Drive team engagement, accountability, and collaboration through effective communication and coaching.
- Address performance and workflow challenges with professionalism and urgency.
- Implement best practices in medication safety and quality improvement.
- Partner with hospital leadership to assess current operations and support a smooth transition to permanent leadership.
Qualifications
Active Arkansas Pharmacist License (required).7+ years of pharmacy experience , including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role .Proven ability to engage staff, foster accountability, and lead through change.Experience in complex inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.Familiarity with Epic (EMR) and Workday (HR / Finance systems) preferred.Previous experience in interim or turnaround leadership roles is a plus.Ideal Candidate
