This position will support the design, development, testing and operational phases of projects undertaken at Peraton Labs, the research and development arm of Peraton corporation. This position requires the successful candidate to work closely with a diverse team of engineering, scientific and technical staff to develop novel solutions in support of complex projects. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work semi-independently in a small multi-disciplinary team utilizing their experience to analyze, design and implement FPGA based solutions. Developing or supporting the development of software interfaces for embedded devices and modules to power, generate, and receive signals for prototypes and field-deployable systems is a critical component of this job. The ability to read, comprehend and generate professional quality design documentation as well as code is a required capability for this position.

Duties and responsibilities include :

• Lead the development and testing of FPGA based solutions, related software and electronics for experimental and production systems
• Architect embedded solutions that meet system requirements
• Guide the development and engage in the work to test firmware & software as well as document and fix bugs
• Support the development and review of documentation packages including Use Cases, Data Flow Diagrams, State Machine Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams and Test Plans
• Develop embedded computing and digital signal processing designs and applications
• Provide expertise in analyzing FPGA designs and refactoring as needed

Target Salary Range : $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
