Why Join Us :
The Bonney Laboratory in the Department of Anesthesiology investigates small vessel disease in the context of neurodegenerative diseases. Our research focuses on the role of perivascular cells in maintaining the integrity and function of brain vascular networks. Specifically, we aim to understand the contributions of lesser-known perivascular cell types, such as fibroblasts and macrophages, in regulating brain vascular dynamics. We are interested in exploring how these cells regulate vascular function at both the cellular and ultrastructural levels, and how alterations in these perivascular cells contribute to disease progression.
