Network Platform CN UX

Cisco Networking is an industry leader providing intelligent network solutions for organizations to securely connect users, devices, applications, and workloads everywhere. We empower organizations everywhere - from local libraries to global hotels - to focus on their mission and have technology that simply works. Cisco has been named #2 Best Company to Work For in the U.S. by Fortune in 2024!

What We Are Looking For

As a Product Designer on the Network Platform UX team, you will play a critical role in driving the user experience for Cisco's integrated networking and security solutions, with a primary focus on our Unified Branch strategy. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that design patterns and visual language are consistent, intuitive, and aligned across multiple, interdependent product lines.

In this role, you will develop and demonstrate deep domain knowledge, product expertise, and an understanding of complex customer use cases and deployment models. You'll deeply understand the needs of our customers, set the vision for the product grounded in those needs, and partner with teams across disciplines to iteratively build and refine exceptional experiences

Our team's primary focus is on software, and we also find opportunities to collaborate with teams across the organization to think about how to improve the entire customer journey. Cisco believes the quality of our products is dependent on the quality of our teams. We place a high value on nurturing the growth and development of everyone on our team, giving and receiving feedback early and often, sharing what we know, and learning from each other.

Responsibilities

Lead design for security integration initiatives supporting Cisco's Unified Branch vision, partnering with Product Management and Engineering across networking and security domains.

Coordinate and unify design patterns and visual language across products and platforms, ensuring a seamless, consistent, and best-in-class user experience that amplifies Cisco's full-stack solution.

Apply UX methodologies to drive early discovery work and leverage findings to craft short-, mid-, and long-term delivery roadmaps, leading and designing with the team to bring these plans to life.

Design products end-to-end : identify the right problems to solve, run and synthesize research, sketch and prototype solutions, and create high-fidelity visuals.

Earn trust with cross-functional partners by seeking out diverse perspectives, collaborating regularly, and inviting them into research and co-creation sessions with the team and customers. Advocate for prioritizing design-centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.

Present persuasively-tell the story of a project and build prototypes that clearly articulate design rationale.

Provide direction and mentorship to other designers; guide the team to focus on the most important customer needs, challenges, and opportunities.

Think beyond your immediate team's goals-consider how your work impacts other teams and the broader organization, and influence their work accordingly.

Shape and influence the strategic vision and design of large, complex initiatives for products, programs, or strategic efforts of considerable size and scope.

Translate ambiguous business needs into clear, actionable, customer-focused solutions.

Facilitate workshops, sketching, and prototyping sessions; create documentation and templates that enable others to consume and contribute.

You're an ideal candidate if you have :

6+ years of professional experience designing and delivering products in cross-functional teams from strategy to delivery.

Aligned teams around customer-centered design decisions, using UX methodologies and tools (double-diamond, personas, journey mapping, dual agile, lean ux, prototypes), and influenced adoption by those who aren't familiar with strategic UX engagements.

A proven track record of shipping large scale enterprise products or complex, cross-functional software projects, ideally in security or networking domains.

Ability to see the bigger picture, while zooming in to rationalize and perfect the nuanced details.

Made complex problems and workflows feel simple and approachable.

Balanced strategic research and discovery with shipping often.

Persuasive storytelling and strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Lead and mentored junior UX designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture within the team.

If you are passionate about building products that shape the future of secure networking and want to work in a collaborative, high-impact environment, we'd love to hear from you!

Please include a link to your online portfolio. Only those applications that include portfolios will be considered.
