Ovation Systems Engineer

Overview

The Ovation Systems Engineer will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Emerson Ovation control systems within a power generation facility in Los Angeles. Responsibilities include calibration, repair of critical instrumentation, support of up-to-date plant operations, and digital control system upgrades and cybersecurity compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Emerson Ovation DCS systems and associated instrumentation.
• Operate and maintain Mark VI systems and associated instrumentation for Steam Turbines.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and replace transmitters, switches, probes, and control devices.
• Support unit start-up and shutdown procedures and control room operations.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plant instrumentation and control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on O&M and capital projects.
• Maintain documentation and logs in systems such as SAP or equivalent CMMS.
• Assist in design and implementation of control strategies and system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards (e.g., NERC, FERC), and cybersecurity policies.
• Participate in pre / post job briefs, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Wage

Salary range : $140,000 – $190,000. Starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
