Safety Manager (San Jose)

SUMMARY

The Safety Manager at Megawatt Construction is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe work environment on data center construction sites. This role involves developing safety policies, conducting inspections, providing training, and fostering a culture of safety awareness and compliance. The Safety Manager collaborates with project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to maintain a safe working environment throughout the project lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Safety Program Development and Implementation : Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, programs, and procedures for data center construction sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
• Site Inspections and Audits : Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Provide timely feedback to site managers and workers to address safety concerns.
• Training and Education : Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for construction personnel, emphasizing best practices and compliance with safety regulations. Ensure all workers understand and adhere to safety protocols.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting : Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of incidents and report them to the appropriate authorities.
• Compliance Monitoring : Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation. Stay updated on industry safety standards and best practices.
• Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into project planning and execution. Communicate regularly with all stakeholders to provide updates on safety performance and initiatives.
