SUMMARY
The Safety Manager at Megawatt Construction is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe work environment on data center construction sites. This role involves developing safety policies, conducting inspections, providing training, and fostering a culture of safety awareness and compliance. The Safety Manager collaborates with project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to maintain a safe working environment throughout the project lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safety Program Development and Implementation : Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, programs, and procedures for data center construction sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Site Inspections and Audits : Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Provide timely feedback to site managers and workers to address safety concerns.
- Training and Education : Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for construction personnel, emphasizing best practices and compliance with safety regulations. Ensure all workers understand and adhere to safety protocols.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting : Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of incidents and report them to the appropriate authorities.
- Compliance Monitoring : Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation. Stay updated on industry safety standards and best practices.
- Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into project planning and execution. Communicate regularly with all stakeholders to provide updates on safety performance and initiatives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a construction safety role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position overseeing safety programs for large-scale data center or similar critical infrastructure projects.Certifications : Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety certification is preferred. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification required; OSHA 500 course certification preferred. LOTO, Rigging.Skills : Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction codes, and industry best practices. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Travel : Ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education : Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or a related field.Experience : A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry, with at least 3 years focused on data center fit-out projects.
