Responsibilities Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) within a tertiary care hospital Care for adult acute care patients needing specialized monitoring and step-down care Continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring for all patients Handle a patient ratio of 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 for MedSurg patients Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, rapid response, IV therapy, and airway management Night shift schedule : three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00–07 : 00) Required to work every other weekend Expected to float as needed Utilizes EPIC EMR system, prior experience is required Patient population includes those transitioning from the ED, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors, requiring more than general acute care Responsibilities include titrating medicated IV infusions, airway and BIPAP support, and management of arterial and central lines Team-oriented multi-disciplinary approach to patient care Isolation precautions are followed as needed First time travelers are accepted Return staff are eligible after a 1-year separation Pre-assignment modules must be completed prior to start Scrub attire must be any combination of navy and white Limited call-off policy applies All requested time off must be submitted up front for consideration Requirements Active NY RN license in hand at the time of consideration Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in a similar setting Experience with EPIC charting system Must be able to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias Ability to manage peripheral lines, nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway equipment Applicants must reside outside a 75-mile radius Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-640072.
