E&S Contract Binding Underwriter

Are you a fast-paced E&S underwriter who thrives on broker interaction and decisive underwriting? My client, a growing and financially stable carrier, is expanding its contract binding E&S team due to tremendous growth and seeking a skilled underwriter in Scottsdale, AZ.

About the Role

You'll underwrite small commercial and construction-related risks through contract binding authority. Typical premiums range from $3K–$50K , and you'll manage submissions from key wholesale and MGA partners while ensuring profitable growth and adherence to underwriting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities :

• Evaluate, quote, and bind small commercial submissions within delegated authority.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with wholesale and MGA partners.
• Manage a high-volume underwriting workflow while maintaining accuracy and turnaround times.
• Identify growth opportunities within existing programs and agency partnerships.
• Collaborate closely with leadership on rate adequacy, guidelines, and appetite communication.
• Contribute to team goals for premium, profitability, and service excellence.

Ideal Background :

Location : Hybrid – 2 days per week in Scottsdale, AZ office.
