Location : 9401 Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22031

Duration : 3+ months (Contract)

Shift Hours : Must be available between 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM (as per business needs)

Overview

The Senior Phlebotomist - Float serves as the welcoming face of our company, ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for whether they are undergoing routine health checks or navigating significant health decisions. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality blood samples from patients and ensuring their proper handling for laboratory testing, all in accordance with established protocols.

This position demands flexibility as you will provide essential coverage across various locations and functions, ensuring seamless operations in Patient Service Centers, mobile phlebotomy, long-term care facilities, and in-office settings.

As a Senior Phlebotomist - Float, you will foster trust and confidence among patients and staff, exemplifying leadership qualities with a commitment to excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages (from pediatric to geriatric).
  • Prepare and manage specimens according to standard operating procedures.
  • Provide support across multiple sites as needed and lead operations at locations when required.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for new hires, aiding in their onboarding and training.
  • Serve as the primary contact on-site, giving valuable feedback to the group lead or supervisor.
  • Build collaborative relationships with different departments such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics to address complex or high-volume situations.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while effectively communicating with both patients and teammates.
  • Balance multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
  • Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA)
  • Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in phlebotomy (including work with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy environment (preferred).
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors (preferred).
  • Basic keyboard and data entry skills.
  • Additional Details

  • Must possess the flexibility to travel and provide coverage at various locations.
  • Availability to work any shift during our hours of operation from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM is essential.
