Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location : Wausau, WI (zip 54401) - Wisconsin travel nursing opportunity Healthcare Setting : Med Surg Intermediate Care / Cardiac Stepdown Unit Contract Length : 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date : September 22, 2025 End Date : December 21, 2025 Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed hours Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and every other holiday required Float : May float to all inpatient units, including higher acuity areas Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990-$2130 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Wisconsin RN license (Registered Nurse) BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience ICU and Trauma Level II experience preferred Ventilator and tracheostomy care experience required At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required EPIC electronic charting experience preferred Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients Manage a 4 : 1 patient ratio in a fast-paced, 36-bed unit Care for patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, sepsis, trauma, GI bleeds, chest tubes, stroke, and more Float to higher acuity inpatient units as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Adapt quickly to changing clinical situations and manage tasks independently Maintain accurate patient documentation using EPIC (preferred) Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
