About The Position

Wellhart is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens position at a Trauma Center in Maine. This 60-day assignment, starting from 07 / 07 / 2025, offers flexible scheduling with 36-40 hours per week in 10- or 12-hour shifts. The CRNA will primarily work in a collaborative practice model under medical direction, providing anesthesia care for a variety of adult surgical cases. Key responsibilities include administering general and spinal anesthesia, managing ventilation, and performing local infiltration for procedures such as general surgery and neurosurgery. This opportunity provides a chance to work in a high-volume, dynamic healthcare environment with state-of-the-art facilities and the potential for assignment extension.

Schedule : 36-40 hours / week, 10- or 12-hour shifts (0700-1730; 0700-1900; options for 0900-1900; 0900-2100; 1100-2300)

Job Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Provide anesthesia care for adult patients undergoing general surgical and neurosurgical procedures
  • Administer and monitor general and spinal anesthesia
  • Manage patient ventilation during surgical procedures
  • Perform local infiltration techniques as required
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams in a medical direction model
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and develop appropriate anesthesia plans
  • Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia delivery as needed
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EMR system
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with the latest anesthesia techniques and practices

Additional Information :

  • Maine state license required
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment preferred
  • Comfortable working in a Trauma Center
  • Ability to adapt to existing workflow and collaborate with dedicated CRNA teams
  • Note : CRNAs will not be required to perform open heart surgeries, regional anesthesia, or central lines
