Christmas Driver
Drives Salvation Army vehicle to mall(s) to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse. Responsible for driving to and from homes, agencies, and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. Loads and unloads gifts from the vehicle to the warehouse. Operates the vehicle in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations; lifts, carries, loads and unloads Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc.; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; drives kettle workers to and from kettle locations; assists in performing work at the Christmas warehouse and center as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Required : Education and Experience : A High School diploma or GED. and two years driving experience.
Licenses and Certifications : Valid Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of the assigned geographic area. Ability to organize route in a manner that saves time and gasoline consumption. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and donors. Ability to perform general cleaning activities for building. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to become and remain certified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
Mental and Physical Abilities : Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read and communicate the English language. Ability to operate commercial equipment. Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing duties given. Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing and climbing as well as lift and carry and / or push / pull moderate (25 50 lbs) and possibly heavy (50-100 lbs) materials and donations.
