About the Role :
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a Special Education Preschool program in Jackson Heights, NY. The role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment focused on helping preschool-aged children achieve greater independence and success in their daily activities.
This position is open to both new graduates and experienced therapists interested in pediatric or school-based therapy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate and assess students' fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) based on students' goals and developmental needs.
- Provide direct therapy to preschool-aged children in individual or small group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary team members to support each student's participation in the classroom.
- Adapt classroom materials and environments to promote engagement and success.
- Maintain detailed documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff development sessions.
Qualifications :
Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.Active New York State Occupational Therapy License (or eligibility).NBCOT Certification preferred (not required for new grads).Pediatric or school-based experience preferred; fieldwork in pediatrics strongly encouraged for new graduates.Benefits :
