Job descriptionOnsite Care : Provide hospital medicine physician services, including evaluation, treatment, and management of hospitalized medical patients. Comprehensive Care : Admit and coordinate all aspects of care, including history and physical examinations, diagnostic studies, and medication administration. Advanced Care Planning : Discuss end-of-life preferences and coordinate care with primary care physicians. Timely Discharge Planning : Ensure proactive discharge planning and arrange appropriate follow-up care. Clinic Presence : Arrive on time for scheduled clinics, ensuring a seamless experience for patients. Inpatient Admissions : Review all admissions recommended by Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners, ensuring effective handoffs within the admitting team. Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. A passion for patient care and a commitment to teamwork. Are you a board-certified or board-eligible internist or family practice physician looking to make a meaningful impact in patient care? At the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center , we are seeking dedicated professionals to provide comprehensive hospital medicine and outpatient care. This is your chance to be part of a collaborative healthcare team that prioritizes patient outcomes!
Job Title : Board-certified / Board-eligible Internist / Family Practice Physicians
Location : Michael E. DeBakey VAMC, 2002 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030, and 11 internal medicine / family medicine outpatient clinics
Period of Performance : 1 base year with 4 option years
Work Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4 : 30 PM (No call and no weekends)
- This role may involve shifts that are not finalized at the time of hire. We value flexibility and openness to a broad range of scheduling possibilities.
- Selected candidates are expected to disclose and coordinate any additional employment to avoid conflicts with assigned shifts.
