Project Accountant - Commercial Construction

Verdex Construction is looking for Construction Project Accountants to add to our Finance team in to help us in continuing our mission of "Building Something Better".

The Construction Project Accountant serves as an essential part of the Project Team, managing all aspects of job-related accounting activities. Project Accountants work closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate reporting, payments, billing, and administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance of complete and accurate record of the Project’s financial transactions from startup through closeout.
• Project setup in Procore / Sage and review of Owner Contract to verify key requirements.
• Review subcontracts, purchase orders, Owner, and Subcontractor change orders to ensure accurate posting.
• Assist the Project Manager with financial closeout and analyzing of all transactions.
• Keeping a record of all project finances for internal / external auditing and tax purposes.
• Ensure that the subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors account balances in Sage are always correct and reconciled.
• Responsible for accurate and on-time payment of Subcontractor, supplier and vendor invoices, as well as timely receipt of Owner funding.
• Acts as liaison between Subcontractors and Project Team, responding to Subcontractor accounting inquiries and diffusing any issues with the assistance of the Project Manager.
• Researching market trends and projecting construction-related price increases / decreases.
• Keeping abreast with both the construction and accounting industry.
