Job description

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Houston, TX. The role involves managing a high volume of Defense Base Act claims, working closely with a supervising shareholder, and gaining autonomy in handling federal workers' compensation claims related to overseas work funded by U.S. government contracts. Domestic travel for marketing is required once a year.

Duties

  • Manage a high volume caseload of Defense Base Act claims.
  • Collaborate with a supervising shareholder on federal workers' compensation claims.
  • Travel domestically for marketing purposes once annually.

Requirements

  • License to practice law in a U.S. state; additional state licensure may be required.
  • Graduated in the top 50% of law school class.
  • Strong writing abilities demonstrated through initial materials.
  • Professional and empathetic approach to denying workers' compensation benefits.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high-quality work expectations.
