Registered Nurse – Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) Location : Lawrenceville, GA Assignment Duration : 13+ Weeks (Possible Extension) Shift Type : 12-Hour Days Employment Type : Contract / Travel / Full-Time

Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (Pre-Op RN) to join our healthcare team in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for surgical procedures by performing assessments, providing education, and ensuring a safe and comfortable pre-operative experience.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct pre-operative assessments and verify patient information, medical history, and surgical instructions.

Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery, ensuring all necessary forms and consents are completed.

Administer prescribed medications and start IV lines as required.

Monitor vital signs and report any abnormal findings to the surgical team.

Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

Provide clear pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and families.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.

Adhere to all hospital and regulatory safety protocols and infection control standards.

Qualifications :

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Georgia (or Compact State).

BLS and ACLS certifications (required).

Minimum 1–2 years of recent experience in Pre-Operative or Surgical Nursing.

Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
